M‑Files for Microsoft 365 Copilot
M‑Files enriches Microsoft 365 Copilot with trusted business context, providing the foundation for effective Copilot agents that can deliver higher‑value outcomes. Out of the box, M‑Files delivers a native content experience for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Agent Builder, ensuring Copilot works with governed, context‑rich information — not just files.

Content managed by M‑Files is accessed natively by Copilot, remains stored in Microsoft 365, and is not moved or duplicated. By applying metadata, relationships, and intelligence such as M‑Files WorkIQ, M‑Files improves how Copilot understands and uses business content while preserving Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and governance controls.

Note: To enable native capabilities, customers must activate SharePoint Embedded (SPE).

M‑Files Connector for Copilot (Non‑Native)
In addition to native Microsoft 365 Copilot access, M‑Files also offers the M‑Files Connector for Copilot. This non‑native option allows a vault administrator to curate and expose selected content from an M‑Files vault to the Microsoft Graph. Once available in Microsoft Graph, this content can be accessed by authorized users and used by Microsoft 365 Copilot to help answer user queries.
