M‑Files provides a native content experience for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Agent Builder, making organizational content easier to find and use. By applying metadata and business context to documents, M‑Files helps Copilot return more accurate and relevant responses while supporting secure, governed use of AI across the organization.

Content managed by M‑Files is accessed natively by Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Agent Builder. Content remains stored in Microsoft 365 and is not moved or duplicated. Information managed in M‑Files is available to Copilot in the same way as content stored in SharePoint or OneDrive, while retaining Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and governance controls. M‑Files adds business context and structure that improves how content is interpreted and used by Copilot.

Note: To enable native capabilities, customers must activate SharePoint Embedded (SPE).

In additional to the native Microsoft 365 Copilot access, M-Files offers the M-Files Connector for Copilot. This solution allows a vault administrator to choose a curated set of content from within the M-Files vault to expose to the Microsoft Graph. Once available within the Microsoft Graph this information is available to appropriate users and will be used to help answer queries asked of Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365.
