Secured inside M-Files

Print and Download Prevention addresses the need when users should be able to view a document inside M-Files, but should never be able to take the file out of the system. Only those users with edit permission can open, download and edit the files, but users with read permission can only view documents within the M-Files Desktop and Web clients. They cannot copy, print, or download the file outside of M-Files.

Once Print and Download Prevention is taken into use, prevention is applied to all M-Files clients. Users with read permission can view documents within the M-Files Desktop and Web clients and are prevented to view or open the file with M-Files mobile clients.

Exceptions on object level

If selected users with read-only access to a file still need to be to be able to open the files without restrictions, there are built-in options for exceptions to be created via custom applications or by utilizing Compliance Kit.

These users with read-only access are also prevented from copying or exporting the file as well as accessing the file via the Mobile clients.
